use your own "wedding car"
[Page 1 of 1] There's nothing wrong with using your 1999 Ford Taurus as a cost-effective and quaint wedding car. It's a great way to save some money and avoid some hassle. Here are a couple of points to keep in mind if you're planning on using your own car as wedding transportation: Umm...How is the bride getting to the ceremony? One point that is often overlooked by grooms is that the bride and groom arrive separately to the wedding ceremony. While it may be fine for you to use your car to get to the wedding, your bride is not going to be comfortable driving herself to the wedding, in high heels and sporting a one-of-a-kind wedding gown. She will either hitch a ride with her parents or a bridesmaid. If a fleet of different cars and possible problems is starting to give you a headache, it may not be a bad idea to splurge on a car and driver. Clean your car, and get the best man to clean his rust bucket One very important point is cleanliness. Make sure your car is spic and span on the day before the wedding. The last thing you want is to have to someone (ie. your bride) stain her dress or you stain tuxedo as you are getting in or out of the car. Make sure your best man gets this note if you're using his wheels. Decorate your "wedding car" Grooms should decorate the car that he and his bride will be using after the wedding ceremony. It's part of wedding day tradition. Click here to read more about how to decorate your wedding car (or a rental car) for wedding day. The boutonniere as a safety hazard Many a groom and groomsman have had their boutonniere decapitated by their car's seatbelt. For this reason, GroomGroove.com highly recommends putting on the boutonnieres when you get to the wedding ceremony.
